Retail Warehouse Logistics Manager at Emirates National Oil Company is required to manage all sections within the warehouse in order to ensure efficient, cost effective and safe operations that meet fully the needs Retail Operation & Automotive network and are in compliance with relevant policies, procedures and standards.

Duties Of Retail Warehouse Logistics Manager

Inventory and Perpetual Inventory

  • Oversee and approve a controlled and accurate system of stock replenishment.
  • Ensure stock items are consistently replenished and readily available to users at all times.
  • Approve transactions, minimum / maximum level amendments (in conjunction with other departments), reclassification of stock and transfers to different sites (distribution of materials between the different warehouses).
  • Ensure that materials returned to stock are correctly identified, preserved, stored and made available when required.
  • Monitor the perpetual inventory process through the systematic counting of each item in the warehouse and lead resolution and approval of stock variances.

Management

  • Manage the effective achievement of departmental objectives through the leadership of the warehouse department – setting individual objectives, managing performance.
  • Developing and motivating staff and providing formal and informal feedback and appraisal – in order to maximise subordinate and the performance of the section.

Annual Planning

  • In conjunction with senior management, develop the annual warehouse plan and monitor its implementation.
  • Ensure implementation of key warehouse objectives.

Organisation Structure

  • Recommend an optimum organisation structure for the department to resources are optimally utilised and communication can take place in an efficient manner.

Budgets and Plans

  • Prepare and recommend the warehouse budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget.
  • Business should be aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance, identify and rectify promptly, and capitalize potential performance improvement opportunities.

Cataloguing

  • Review and approve “New Stock Item Requests” submitted by user departments.
  • Check and approve “Catalogue Update Requests” from purchasing and user departments.
  • Oversee and approve work performed by the cataloguing section.
  • Ensure standardisation and conformity of the data entered thus the development and update of an accurate and reliable catalogue for use by user departments.

Additional Principal Accountabilities

Material Receipt

  • Ensure material specifications, quality and quantities specified on the Purchase Order (PO) are checked, received and processed in an efficient and timely manner so that all material received is in compliance with orders and requirements.

Material Issuance

  • Ensure that required materials are in a good condition and issued to users in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Ensure internal customer satisfaction and reduction of the possibility of process plant downtime due to material issuance delays. 

Third Party Shipping and Documentation

  • Ensure that all documentation of all materials going out for services or repairs or to any third party is maintain as per standards to ensure accuracy and availability for any future reference.

Hazardous Waste and Asset Disposal Request Management

  • Ensure that general, dangerous and hazardous waste generated from retail store, handled and disposed in accordance with the Environmental Management System (EMS) procedures.
  • Manage the asset disposal requests ensuring that material is in the custody of the warehouse prior to authorization for disposal.

Policies, Systems,  Processes, and Procedures

  • Recommend improvements retail warehouse policy and direct the implementation of procedures and controls covering all areas of the warehouse activity.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stimulate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of warehouse systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Reports

  • Supervise the preparation of timely and accurate departmental reports of warehousing to meet company and department requirements, policies and standards.

Safety, Quality, and Environment

  • Ensure the adherence of all relevant safety, quality and environmental procedures, instructions and controls.

Eligibility Requirements For Retail Warehouse Logistics Manager

The eligibility requirements for the role of Retail Warehouse Logistics Manager are as under:

  • University degree in a related field.
  • 5-8 year experience in Retail/Logsitic industry in which 3 year experience in inventory and fleet management.
