About the Role
The Respiratory Therapist position provides skilled respiratory support to patients requiring specialized breathing assistance and oxygen therapy. Furthermore, you will assess and manage patients in critical care units, operating theatres, and general wards with diverse respiratory conditions. This role demands clinical expertise in both diagnostic testing and therapeutic interventions. Additionally, you will educate patients and families while maintaining the highest standards of clinical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized respiratory care and oxygen therapy to patients of all ages
- Assess patient respiratory status and determine appropriate therapeutic interventions
- Conduct diagnostic tests including spirometry and blood gas analysis
- Administer aerosol medications and manage mechanical ventilators
- Perform chest physiotherapy and encourage patient mobilization
- Develop individualized treatment plans and education programs for patients
- Monitor patient progress and vital signs during respiratory treatment
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and critical care teams
- Maintain respiratory equipment and ensure proper calibration and function
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and safety audits
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 3 years of relevant clinical experience in respiratory care
- Strong ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to continuous professional development and patient safety standards
- Valid UAE license or eligibility for registration
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
