Parsons Corporation is looking for an amazingly talented Resident Design Engineer (Infrastructure) to join their team in Abu Dhabi. In this role you will be responsible to design, plan, schedule, supervise, and exercise administrative authority over all field of engineering work. This is a mid level full time role. For this position salary can range between 15000 to 30000 AED/month. Requisition ID for this vacancy is R155113.

Responsibilities of A Resident Design Engineer

  • Provide technical support to the construction team and produces any design that arise during construction work.
  • Provide guidance and resolve design-related challenges promptly and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of design related decisions, modifications, and internal approval during the Construction Phase.
  • highlight any design change or deviations and provide necessary updates to the project management team and involved stakeholders.
  • Design of ALL Services and coordinate with relevant Authorities.
  • Preparation of plans and cross sections detailing all new service reservations required for the works.
  • Design of road work, infrastructure, stormwater, road marking, signage, public realm, landscaping ,etc.
  • Responsible for reviewing all shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, any requests for information relating to the infrastructure ,landscaping, irrigation and associated works.
  • Coordinate with Parsons’ design Engineers for resolution of related issues.
  • Maintain the Resident Engineer’s daily diary and daily diaries and reports by his subordinates.
  • Coordinate with the Contractor on scheduling and application of resources.
  • Direct, assist and monitor the performance of the construction team working on the supervision of the construction of the landscaping, irrigation and associated works.
  • Coordinate with client/PMC, the Contractor and related concerned authorities.
  • Advise on contractual and design/construction matters regarding utilities diversions and installations, traffic diversions, and other related works.

What You’ll Do More

  • Generally, supervise, review, monitor and report on the progress of the design of the landscaping, irrigation and associated works.
  • Liaise with all parties for site safety.
  • Convene and chair regular site meetings about design issues related to infrastructure and landscaping work and related activities.
  • Issue additional drawings as required in coordination with the design office.
  • Ensure prompt exchange of correspondence and approvals.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
  • Ensure safety goals are achieved on the project and oversee implementation of safety procedures on the project.
  • Act positively and participate in all health and safety issues at the site, as required by the Project Safety Representatives.
  • Comply with safety, health and risk management requirements.
  • Provide all necessary on-site direction and issue site instructions for landscape, irrigation and other related activities.
  • Check and measure the performed work and record and display progress vs programmed work.
  • Prepare progress reports as applicable.
  • Ensure correctness and completeness of ‘as-built’ drawings in the area of his discipline.
  • Participate in contract administration.

Requirements For Resident Design Engineer

The eligibility requirements for role of a Resident Design Engineer are as under:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of related work experience.

Knowledge & Skills Desired

  • Proven ability to perform in a management capacity.
  • Demonstrated effective managerial capability on construction projects of comparable scope and complexity is also required, as well as excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer (PE) registration or other similar professional organizations preferred.
  • Emphasis on Quality Assurance Specifications and Statistical Quality Control.
  • Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc. and any project specific engineering and construction relevant software.
  • Requires a comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction related processes, as well as industry practices.
  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering and construction.
  • Proven ability for performing in a supervisory capacity on a project.
