Research Scientist 2 at DP World in Dubai will be act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working, promoting and demonstrating positive behaviors in harmony with DP World’s Principles, values and culture, ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities, understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies. This is a mid level full time role. The salary for this role ranges from 15000 AED to 30000 AED, which may be slightly negotiatable during the interview.
Duties of Research Scientist 2
- Identify and develop required data frameworks, optimization and predicative learning models, and enabling tools necessary to support business operation decisions.
- Conceive, design, prototype and implement advanced algorithms aimed at generating solutions to critical problems.
- Assess algorithm performance on real-world data, and monitor the business performance.
- Support multiple projects throughout the company.
- Document results via written reports, briefings and well-commented code.
- Engage customers and collaborators to provide technical results and recommendations.
- Communicate with internal and external clients to understand and define business needs and appropriate modelling techniques to provide analytical solutions.
Eligibility Requirements for Research Scientist 2
- Master’s or PhD degree in applied mathematics, statistics, data science, operation research, or related field.
- 3-6 years’ relevant experience in a research scientist or data scientist role.
- Experience in scientific programming using Python, R, C++, Matlab, or similar high-level languages.
Skills Desired
- Ability to quickly pick up “on the fly” new skills and develop expertise necessary to provide the best possible solution.
- Basic understanding of Cloud (AWS, Azure, etc.).
- Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills, including the ability to communicate solution concepts clearly and persuasively.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across multiple organizations and drive alignment.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity, work with minimal supervision and collaborate on small teams.
- Intellectual curiosity and high motivation to solve challenging problems.
