Sorbonne University is seeking a Research Coordinator in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role of this position  is to oversee the day-to-day administration of research activities, and to support the Head of Research at the University to co-ordinate and oversee all research projects and events. The incumbent will be the Secretary of the Research Council which includes developing an annual calendar of council meetings, preparing agendas, taking Minutes of Meeting, and following up on actions and recommendations taken by the Council.

Duties as Research Coordinator

  • Develop the Annual Research Plan for approval by the Research Council.
  • Preparing quarterly and annual research reports.
  • Monitoring the research budget and raising the PR for all expenses approved by the Research Council.
  • Conducting benchmarking of research activities with other HEI.
  • Collaborating with the Strategic Planning Office on the provision of research data for third parties.
  • Overseeing graduate research activities and maintaining a list of graduate research projects and final dissertations.
  • Collaborating with the library to ensure that the Research Repository is up to date and current.
  • Ensuring that the Research Page on the website is up to date and collaborating with Corporate Communication to provide all updates and information as required.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Research Innovation and Partnerships.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Project Management on all strategic projects approved by the VC Office and EMC.
  • Ensure all research policies and guidelines are updated and meet standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Vice Chancellor.

Education & Experience of Research Coordinator

  • Bachelor degree from a recognized accredited University.
  • 5 years in Research Area/higher education.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate collaboratively with faculty, staff and the external community.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS platforms (Office, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
