Khalifa University is presently recruiting suitably qualified and skilled candidate for the role of Research Associate in the field of machine learning and AI. The potential candidate is expected to undertake specific research tasks in machine learning and AI. Also, the candidate is expected to be involved in research center admin duties and activities, meeting arrangements; travel and event requests; compiling, organizing, summarizing, and/or presenting requested information; and conducting any other explorations, investigations, and studies relevant to the center’s operation.
Responsibilities of Research Associate

Help the principal investigator conduct research on the solution of small scale data problem in medical data and images by establishing transfer learning models and fractal growth.

Have sufficient fractal theory of analysis the multiple scale medical images by combining machine learning, drive the development of new algorithms, and improve the research of fusing multiple scale medical images.

Optimize the deep learning by introducing fractal parameter to deep learning models, enhance the accuracy of machine learning models, achieve more accurate medical data and image analysis.

Have the professional knowledge of fractal theory, understand the role of fractal in capturing self similarity.

Multi scale structure in images, relevant research experience preferred.

Contribute to writing grant proposals, drafting papers, and attending conferences.

Supervise graduate students and other junior team members, while training new team personnel on analysis medical image using fractal theory.
Job Requirements
The requirements for the job role of Research Associate are as under:
- Masters gained from and/or experience working in a top 200 QS or THE ranked University.
- Two year of increasingly accountable relevant experience as a researcher in academia or in industry.
Skills & Knowledge Desired
- Experience of undertaking assigned research tasks and starting to manage own workload.
- Contributing to scientific papers and academic journal articles where possible acting as lead/ corresponding author.
- A willingness to contribute to a collaborative and supportive team culture.
- Excellent English language communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to function as part of a team working on multiple tasks with competing demands and deadlines.
- Well developed reasoning and problem solving skills.
- At least 1 lead author publication in a Q1 journal in the relevant field.
- Experience contributing to high impact publications in top 10% journals in the relevant field.
