Research Associate Aerospace Engineering Khalifa University Abu Dhabi

Khalifa University is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to work at the Advanced Research and Innovation Center (ARIC) in collaboration with Mubadala. ARIC investigates the advanced technologies that are of priority to the UAE’s vision, including: additive manufacturing, digital solutions & robotics, healthcare, and sustainability. As part of the center, successful candidates will lead the administrative and human building processes within the center.

Role of Research Associate

The candidate will setup state-of-the-art projects management software and frameworks and train lab researchers accordingly. In addition, he will be responsible for reporting the progress and achievements of the center to all stakeholders through regular reports and presentation. The Incumbent will also support all researchers in terms of reviewing all official documents published by the center to ensure that all ARIC publications are to the highest standards.

Duties of Research Associate

• Take lead in coordinating with external parties and other departments within the university.
• Work closely with the center’s director and the project lead to ensure that the center achieves its objectives.
• Assess and report on the project performance.
• Setup and manage project management frameworks in ARIC.
• Prepare progress reports and presentations.
• Monitor progress of the project using project management frameworks.
• Support research activities in robotics and materials science.
• Manage technical and non-technical documentation.
• Prepare and provide documentation to ARIC project investigators and research teams
• Track center’s finances and manage all center-related procurement processes.
• Review all official documents issued by the center, including papers, patents, and media articles.
• Manage communication with other departments within the university including media and facilities management.
• Manage all administrative processes related to hiring.
• Setup collaboration channels for all activities conducted in ARIC.
• Ensure that the lab and any conducted experiments adhere to safety regulations and standards.

Education & Experience

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university in engineering related disciplines.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with project management software such as MS Project.
• Experience with technical documentation and presentations.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent English language communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to function as part of a team working on multiple tasks with competing demands and deadlines
• Well-developed reasoning and problem-solving skills.
