KU presently has a job opening for the role of Research Assistant to work on multiparameter quantum metrology with emphasis on the characterization of critical spin chains in the presence of external magnetic field and spin orbit interaction. The position is intended to start and finalize a project about the use of quasi local measurements to characterize the chain parameters accessing only a pair of particles rather the entire chain. Responsibilities of Research Assistant

  • Assist with the design and implementation of experiments related to multiparameter quantum metrology, focusing on areas like entanglement generation, state preparation, and quantum sensing.
  • Conduct experimental data acquisition and analysis using specialized equipment and software tools.
  • Contribute to the development and optimization of existing protocols and the exploration of new methods for multiparameter quantum measurements.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data to draw meaningful conclusions and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field.
  • Prepare research reports, presentations, and publications showcasing the research findings.

Job Requirements

The requirements for the job role of Research Assistant are as under:

  • Master gained from and/or experience working in a top 200 QS or THE ranked University.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience as a researcher in academia or in industry.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

  • Analytic and computational skills in spin chains and critical systems.
  • Adhere to the University’s information security and confidentiality. policies and procedures, and report breaches or other security risks accordingly.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager.
  • Experience of undertaking assigned research tasks and contributing to academic outputs.
  • A willingness to contribute to a collaborative and supportive team culture.
  • Excellent English language communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to function as part of a team working on multiple tasks with competing demands and deadlines.
  • Well developed reasoning and problem solving skills.
