KU is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to support the development of a research axis on healthy aging from the perspective of neuropsychology. The project focuses on the development of a neuropsychological test battery that is clinically relevant and culturally valid for MENA populations. The main objective is to implement computer based cognitive tests to assess cognitive abilities of adults. Cognitive abilities assessment can help in studying healthy versus pathological aging.

Responsibilities of Research Assistant

• Support the development of cognitive tests in English and Arabic.
• Work closely with their clinical partners.
• Conduct data collection from people living with diverse demographics.
• Process large behavioral data with advanced analytics.
• Adhere to the University’s information security and confidentiality policies and procedures, and report breaches or other security risks accordingly.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager.

Job Requirements of Research Assistant

• A master MSc degree in a relevant field (e.g., Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Electric Engineering, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Health Sciences).
• Minimum 2 year experience in similar role.
• Prior experience in designing computer based cognitive tests.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (preferably in both English and Arabic).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Familiarity with data analysis software (e.g., MATLAB) is a plus.
• Familiarity with behavioral data collection from human participants is a plus.
