Registered Nurse Anesthetist Healthpoint Abu Dhabi

This role of Registered Nurse Anesthetist at Healthpoint (Mubadala Health) is responsible for providing and maintaining a high standard of individualized nursing care to patients and their family members according to current best-evidence based standards, using best judgement at all times in alignment with DOH/DHA and organization policies, procedures, guidelines and standards. This role requires expert knowledge in pain management and nursing and is qualified to assess, diagnose and manage patients’ problems alongside the supervising physician.

Responsibilities of Registered Nurse Anesthetist

General Nursing Care

  • Able to provide advance care in medical procedures assistance, in advance specialized areas of care.
  • Management and administration of all types medication, as per business unit allocation.
  • Promotes a healthy environment that maximizes patient safety, promoting compliance of clinical practice guidelines, clinical pathways and hospital policies, contributing for best evidence practice and serving as a role model.
  • Uses in an efficient and carefully manner clinical equipment, uses the material resources of the business unit under the guidelines and policies of the organization.
  • Maintains requirements of medical store monitoring and safety checks.
  • Documents as per organization policies and guidelines, maintains effective communication, promoting continuum of patient care.
  • Practices nursing interventions and nursing activities as per clinical competencies assigned to the role.
  • Communicates effectively escalation of care, based on nursing assessment.
  • Determines nursing interventions required based on patient assessment and prioritizes the identified patient needs in close coordination with the most responsible physician and multidisciplinary team.
  • Facilitates and ensures patient and family education strategies and plans are implemented during the period of admission to discharge, guaranteeing patient safety, management of care and healthcare preventive activities.
  • Monitors and resolves patients concerns and provides feedback regarding satisfaction results to nursing management.
  • Facilitates a smooth patient journey within the required services and levels of care.
  • Provides Initial nursing assessment according with the clinical guidelines of the allocated business unit, proceeds with the required medical referrals as per clinical guidelines.
  • Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care for each patient’s condition while taking into consideration socioeconomic and cultural factors to ensure a patient center model of care and enhancement of patient and family experience.
  • Able to provide close monitoring nursing assessment on advance clinical level, and implanted nursing care plan accordingly.

Specialized Nursing Care

  • Works to develop a patient-specific care plan, determining the appropriate anesthetic technique required for the patient and pain management procedures (e.g. general, regional and local anesthesia, sedation, and/ or multimodal pain management in consultation).
  • Prepares anesthetic equipment and drugs according to standard operating procedures and globally recommended checklists.
  • Conducts a pre-anesthesia assessment and evaluation.
  • Conducts pain management assessment and evaluation.
  • Applies anesthetic monitoring to help assess the patients’ condition under anesthesia, which may include the use of ECG, blood pressure and oxygen saturation devices.
  • Prepares and administers anesthesia medication under appropriate level of supervision as per the collaborative agreement with the supervising physician.
  • Induces and maintains appropriate depth of anesthesia under appropriate level of supervision.
  • Facilitates emergence and recovery from anesthesia.
  • Prepares and administers post anesthetic medication, fluids, and blood products as prescribed by responsible physician under appropriate level of supervision.
  • Assesses and manages common postoperative complications such as respiratory, hemodynamic, neurological dysfunctions, and postoperative nausea and vomiting.

Qualifications & Experience

Following is the eligibility criteria for the role of Registered Nurse Anesthetist at Healthpoint:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Clinical Masters in relevant nursing specialty (minimum 1 year’s course duration).
  • 1 year’s experience post qualification.

OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in the relevant nursing specialty (minimum 3 year’s course duration).
  • 2 years’ experience post qualification.
  • DOH/DHA/MOH license.
