Responsibilities of Receptionist
- Greet guests and visitors with a warm and welcoming attitude upon arrival.
- Handle check-in and check-out procedures efficiently and accurately.
- Assist guests with inquiries, requests, and reservations in person, over the phone, and via email.
- Provide information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions to guests.
- Manage guest bookings, room assignments, and special requests using the hotel’s reservation system.
- Process payments, including room charges, deposits, and cash transactions, and maintain accurate records.
- Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance staff to ensure guest rooms are clean, well-maintained, and ready for occupancy.
- Address guest concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Maintain a tidy and organized front desk area, including lobby and guest service areas.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry, and preparing reports, as needed.
- Adhere to hotel policies, procedures, and safety standards at all times.
Requirements of Receptionist
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in hospitality management or related field preferred.
- Proven experience of 1-2 years as a Receptionist or in a customer service role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
Skills and Knowledge Desired
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in computer skills and experience with hotel reservation systems/software (e.g., Opera, Fidelio).
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations and handle guest inquiries and complaints with tact and diplomacy.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Knowledge of local attractions, restaurants, and transportation options is a plus.
- Fluency in additional languages is an advantage.
