Responsibilities of Receptionist

  • Greet guests and visitors with a warm and welcoming attitude upon arrival.
  • Handle check-in and check-out procedures efficiently and accurately.
  • Assist guests with inquiries, requests, and reservations in person, over the phone, and via email.
  • Provide information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions to guests.
  • Manage guest bookings, room assignments, and special requests using the hotel’s reservation system.
  • Process payments, including room charges, deposits, and cash transactions, and maintain accurate records.
  • Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance staff to ensure guest rooms are clean, well-maintained, and ready for occupancy.
  • Address guest concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized front desk area, including lobby and guest service areas.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry, and preparing reports, as needed.
  • Adhere to hotel policies, procedures, and safety standards at all times.

Requirements of Receptionist 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in hospitality management or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience of 1-2 years as a Receptionist or in a customer service role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.

Skills and Knowledge Desired

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and experience with hotel reservation systems/software (e.g., Opera, Fidelio).
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations and handle guest inquiries and complaints with tact and diplomacy.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Knowledge of local attractions, restaurants, and transportation options is a plus.
  • Fluency in additional languages is an advantage.
