Construction industry in Dubai is currently seeking a detail oriented and organized individual to join their team as a Receiving Clerk. The Receiving Clerk will be responsible for managing the receipt, inspection, and documentation of incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the receiving process. Responsibilities of Receiving Clerk

  • Receive incoming shipments of goods, materials, and supplies, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders or shipping documents.
  • Inspect shipments for damages, discrepancies, or defects, documenting any issues and communicating with suppliers/vendors as needed.
  • Record receiving data in computerized systems or logs, updating inventory records and tracking shipment status.
  • Organize and prioritize incoming shipments for storage or distribution, coordinating with warehouse staff to ensure timely processing.
  • Prepare and label received items for storage or onward transportation, following established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Assist with unloading and loading trucks, palletizing goods, and moving materials within the receiving area as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the receiving area, including storage racks, shelves, and workstations.
  • Collaborate with procurement, inventory control, and other departments to resolve receiving related issues and discrepancies.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations at all times.

Requirements of Receiving Clerk

  • High school diploma in relevant field.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
  • Previous experience of 1-2 years in similar role.

Skills and Knowledge Desired

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including using inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with shipping/receiving procedures, inventory control practices, and warehouse operations.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment is a plus.
