Purpose of A Quality & Environment Manager At Etihad Rail

Support the timely delivery and successful implementation of quality management system, environmental management system (ISO 9001, ISO 14001) and environment regulatory requirements in conjunction with respective department director and head & maintenance thereof.

Job Duties of A Quality & Environment Manager At Etihad Rail

• Obtain and maintain environment permits, OSHAD certification and ISO certifications for ERM as applicable in collaboration with ERH.
• Maintain and continually improve company quality & environmental Management System (ISO 900, ISO 14001).
• Establish quality & environment standards and procedures against industry best practice and ensure compliance with them.
• Support the functioning of quality and environment action groups. Act as Chair of relevant HSEQ action group meetings.
• Planning and ensuring sufficient quality and environment coverage across ERM throughout the business calendar year.
• Implement quality & environment programs to anticipate & manage quality, environment risks based on the company’s risk profile. Ensure QE risks arising from Etihad Rail Mobility activities are managed in a controlled manner.
• Ensure Etihad Rail mobility remains compliant with relevant UAE quality & environment legislations.
• Review applicable local and international changes and developments in HSEQ legislation, railway safety regulations and technological specifications.
• Implement quality and environment KPIs and provide professional services to CEO functions for the achievement of defined objectives and continual improvement in quality and environment performance.
• Lead the quality & environment department in the delivery of ERM health & safety objectives on behalf of the HSEQ Director and delivery of the KPI’s that supports these.
• Establish the departmental quality and environment budget plan & deliver against agreed financial targets demonstrating value & efficiency throughout the process.

What You’ll Do More?

• Keep the equipment owned by HSEQ team calibrated or well maintained.
• Conduct quality and environment training of subordinates in consultation with training team.
• Ensure that company meets its obligations for statutory environmental performance reporting to Etihad Rail, EAD or any other regulatory authorities/governmental departments in UAE.
• Collaborate with functional directors to maintain records of compliance with quality and environmental management system requirements.
• Ensure ERM’s “Controlled documents” are reviewed and updated. L
• Develop the company annual quality and environment plan within defined timescale.
• Support the Emergency Response Planning Committee to develop emergency plan to prevent or mitigate adverse environmental impacts from any emergency situation.
• Support the Emergency Response Planning Committee to test the planned response actions periodically.
• Develop & implement HSEQ audit policies & procedures in accordance with local and international best practice.
• Conduct internal and external HSEQ audits in accordance with ISO 19011 guidelines for auditing management systems.
• Coordinate with auditor’s to report accurate and timely audit information to functional directors & safety compliance team.
• Undertake continuing professional development (CDP) to ensure knowledge remains current and relevant.

Qualification & Experience

• Engineering degree such as environmental engineering or Quality management or a related field.
• Lead auditor certification of ISO 9001, 14001etc.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in quality & environmental management role.
• Experience working on rail and large infrastructure projects (desirable).

Skills Desired

• Good planning and analytical skills.
• English as first language or advanced level of written and verbal skills.
