Job Description

The role of Quality Control Engineer at ADNOC is to plan and direct activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for Oil & Gas Downstream Industry (Terminals, Plants & Service Stations). Develop and initiate standards and methods for maintenance quality control plans, procedures, inspection, test , work instructions, Quality template/forms , utilizing knowledge in engineering fields such as civil, electrical, Instrumentation and mechanical. Responsible for all QA/ QC activities for Projects, Specialized Maintenance Jobs, such as maintain HSECES Equipment’s, Shutdown Planning, Preventive & Corrective Maintenance, Project Planning & Scheduling. Duties Of Quality Control Engineer

QC Inspection

  • Perform the quality inspection for the raw materials, products, equipment, and other items under inspection.
  • Support operations, technical and engineering activities through input to outputs.
  • Perform and monitor the complex sampling tasks in the plant, including   new samples, or during ship loading, dust collections, or high pressure gas samples.
  • Allocate personnel and chemicals and follows up to ensure that analysis is being done in professional way.
  • Assist in equipment starting, loading, offloading, and shutting down inspection and testing to ensure meeting the desired criteria.

Incidents Handling

  •  Report and supervise the nonconformities or abnormalities for further discussion and decisions.
  • Identify any abnormalities in plant and communicate operational staff to promptly rectify the problem.
  • Perform non routine analysis of special samples like, deposit, sludge, scales etc.

Testing

  •  Monitor the day-to-day inputs to the quality laboratory to ensure compliance with quality control procedures.
  • Clarify and report the abnormalities for further investigation by the laboratory team.

What You Will Do More

Communications

  • Communicate, educate and advise on the Quality Control’ updates, procedures, development, and other activities and tests to ensure timely information for the team.
  • Report the day-to-day inspection activities and abnormalities to the concerned teams.
  • Prepare daily, weekly and special analysis reports.

HSE Observations

  • Monitor the endeavour towards good housekeeping and maintain the equipment in basic condition all the time.
  • Participate in achieving HSE objectives and compliance to Company Integrated Management System, Policies & Procedures.
  • Participate in HSE related studies including HAZOP, HAZID, Root Cause Analysis, Risk Assessment and Audits.
  • Enforce HSEMS compliance, promotes awareness for subordinates & respond to emergencies.
  • Identify activities and processes which are hazardous and undertake steps to mitigate that risk and ensure proper disposal of hazardous and toxic chemicals.
  • Review periodically the HSE performance of staff under area of responsibility and takes appropriate measures.

QC Process’ Support

  •  Operate, calibrate and maintain the critical analytical equipment on regular basis for higher productivity and efficiency.
  • Maintain optimum inventory of all laboratory’ tools and materials; chemicals, glassware, spare parts for instruments and other laboratory equipment.
  • Identifying the purchase requirements, initiating purchase requisition, technical evaluation of offers for the items required for QC.
  • Prepare Work Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for instruments used in the Laboratory.

Eligibility Requirements

The eligibility requirements for the role of Quality Control Engineer are as under:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation & Mechanical engineering or a closely related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Quality or Engineering in an industrial related business.
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience with quality related continuous improvement programs.
  • ISO 9001 Certification.
