Job Description

Wood UAE is currently hiring for a Senior QA/QC Engineer in Dubai for their operations in Iraq. This job has recently been posted on company’s website and desirous candidates with experience in oil and gas industry can apply at this position to be part of the well renowned company.

Job Purpose of QA/QC Engineer

To provide an expertise to help projects develop and implement a robust quality management system in all phases of project development.

Responsibilities of QA/QC Engineer

  • Support development and implementation of Project Quality Delivery Plan i.e technical quality assurance, construction quality, fabrication quality, ITPs, inspection, lessons learned, quality incident reporting & alerts, etc.
  • Responsible for quality processes and practices (global processes and best practices).  This includes guidance in the implementation of the requirements defined within our CLIENT quality engineering practices.
  • Support development and implementation of Project Quality Management Systems.
  • Provision of QA/QC training for quality people as well as project managers and project engineers.
  • Provide quality input to project plans, risk register, and technical specifications.
  • Support development and implementation of Contractors Project Quality Plans (PQP) which also includes integration of DCAF, TIV, Lessons Learned and Flawless Project Delivery.
  •  Support Development of PCAPs for projects or “Technical Assurance Plans” (if PCAP is not applicable), either directly or providing assistance.
  • Support DCAF implementation including KPI  monitoring and best practices plus theme replication. Best practices includes IM system flow for tracking of PCAP deliverables.
  • Compliance with PCAP and technical assurance of controls – this would include PCAP auditing and working with TAs to ensure compliance with their Discipline standards and Discipline Delivery Plans.
  • Participate in planning and ensure implementation of TIV, if required.
  • Develop with Operations Excellence Flawless Project Delivery/Lessons Learned and manage mitigation.
  • Support the quality requirements in contracts and tendering process. This includes conducting evaluation and assessment of quality elements, clarification with bidders and on site evaluation.
  • Participation in PARs, VARs and PERs.
  • Participating in quality incident & failure investigations (RCAs/causal learning).
  • Collation of lessons learned/quality alerts and dissemination into the quality networks and project communities.
  • Development and management of mitigation actions required for Lessons learned and flaws.
  • Development and implementation of audit and review program.
  • Support audits on design and technical assurance processes.

Who Can Apply?

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or experienced based equivalent.

Experience

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Experience with quality systems.
  • Experience in project design, procurement, and construction engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience in application of project assurance practices such as technical assurance controls, Flawless Project Delivery and benchmarking.
  • Experience working with HSE management standards and guidelines, contract holder management requirements and general regulatory regimes including familiarity with Classification schemes.
  • Experience in the application of industry standards (ASME, API, AWS, etc) and international standards ISO 9001, ISO 29001 and familiar with ISO 14001.
  • Experience as a qualified Lead Quality Auditor is preferred.
