Responsibilities of Purchasing Officer
- Identify and source new suppliers and negotiate contracts and pricing terms.
- Review and analyze purchase requisitions and purchase orders to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases and inventory using a computerized inventory system.
- Monitor inventory levels and reorder materials as needed to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure that materials are ordered and delivered on time.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality products.
- Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
Requirements of Purchasing Officer
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing or procurement.
Skills and Knowledge desired
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
