Public Relations Officer Serco Abu Dhabi

Public Relations Officer (Team Lead) at Serco will be responsible to oversee and forward plan all aspects of the employee’s legal requirements to maintain employment in the UAE. The PRO is also responsible for the timely and accurate transaction of requirements related to the legal entity setup and maintenance along with other corporate services which vary subject to business need. The purpose of the PRO is to provide and oversee administrative & clerical support in addition to assisting with obtaining new visas, renewals and cancellations for all the employees working thereby ensuring that all government formalities are completed as per UAE regulatory requirements. The PRO is also the first point of contact with all authorities and regulatory bodies in the UAE. This role is part of HR Advisory team and will be based in Dubai/Abu Dhabi Corporate office. Responsibilities of A Public Relations Officer

  • Liaise with the immigration for visa formalities (new, renewal, release and cancellation).
  • Coordinate legal typing requirements and organise all documentation formalities, for new recruits ensuring they obtain their residence visa prior to commencing work.
  • Forward plan and prepare all visa renewals in a timely manner in accordance with as per the UAE government regulation.
  • Ensure compliance with Government legislation, Ministry of Labour & Immigrations laws and keep informed of new policies and procedures.
  • Track cases of absconding employees and loss of passport; ensure timely report of the same to the Admin Coordinator.
  • Own and manage the new/renewal of Trade license & Membership Certificate of Serco and Serco related ventures with the Economic Department, Ministry of Economy, Municipality, Town Planning, Waste Management Centre and Chamber of Commerce.
  • Secure clarifications and updates from regulatory bodies and authorities in the UAE.
  • Assist with the end of service process for employees and ensure the necessary paperwork is provided to cancel their visas.
  • Manage and maintain a robust spreadsheet of all employee visa renewals.
  • Oversee and manage the visa issuance/cancellation process for staff and dependents during volume hires or exits.

Eligibility Requirements

The eligibility requirements for role of a Public Relations Officer are as under:

  • Secondary or post secondary education.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Must be a UAE National.

Knowledge & Skills Desired

  • Good oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic
  • Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Immigration, MOHRE, and Pension department applications
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work productively in a fast paced, team oriented environment
  • A mature and responsible approach to work and use initiative to solve problems and be able to liaise in a professional and persuasive manner with staff at all levels in the organization.
  • Fluent with Ministry of Labour, Immigration department & UAE pension fund process, rules & regulations
  • Good working knowledge of other local & federal government department process, policies & procedure.
