Psychologist (Juvenile), Community Development Authority

Community Development Authority Dubai is presently hiring compassionate and experienced candidate for job role of a Psychologist. The selected candidate will work at Juvenile Center and will be responsible to provide mental health assesment, counseling and therapy services to juveniles (child, infants) detained at Juvenile Center. This vacancy was recently posted by the CDA and is currently open for candidate’s applications.

Job Purpose of A Psychologist

• Collecting information & studying cases of juveniles placed in juvenile center in order to conduct their psychological evaluations.
• Prepare and implement psychological treatment plans and intervention plans.
• Conduct periodic evaluation of outcome of treatment and rehab programs im order to assess their success.

Job Duties of A Psychologist

• Conduct psychological assessment of new juvenile cases through questions, interview, reading reactions and other diagnostic methods.
• Collect initial information regarding the case from parents, educational authorities or close relatives in order to document it.
• Write diagnostic report, fully highlighting  juveniles needs, potential risks & required intervention and treatment plans.
• Develop treatment plans corresponding to the needs, problems & abilities of juveniles.
• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions for the juveniles in line with the particular needs.
• Organize periodic meetings of rehabilitation teams and assess progress of agreed upon treatment/rehabilitation programs.
• Conducting periodic evaluation of cases in order to assess the success/feasibility of treatment/rehab program.
• In case of failure of a particular program or in case of low results, make necessary amendments to the programs.
• Train and guide rehabilitation specialists, social supervisors and all those working to rehabilitate and empower juveniles.
• In case of requirement, transfer juveline cases to specialized juvenile clinics or hospitals.
• Participate in research activities regarding various rehabilitation services.
• Participate in various recreational and sports activities to assess the behavior of juvenile cases.
• Adhere to the information security policies approved by the Authority and ensure confidentiality of information.
• Perform any other tasks within the scope of job responsibilities.

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology.
• Candidates with Master’s degree in psychology would be given priority.
• At least 7 years of experience in the field of psychological counseling for children.
• Proficiency in Arabic and English.
