Project Scheduler GMG Dubai

The Global Project Scheduler at GMG in GMG Building, Umm Hurair Rd, Oud Metha, Dubai, UAE plays a critical role in project management, assisting in the planning, organizing and monitoring of projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget. The primary responsibility of the candidate is to create and maintain project schedules, which serve as a roadmap for the project team, stakeholders and management to follow throughout the project’s lifecycle. This is an Intermediate level full time job. And salary can range between 6000-12000 AED/month.

Responsibilities of Project Scheduler

  • Schedule Development: Collaborate with project managers, team members, and stakeholders to understand project requirements, goals, and constraints. Develop comprehensive project schedules using project management tools like Microsoft Project or other scheduling software.
  • Resource Allocation: Coordinate with different teams and departments to identify required resources, including human resources, equipment, and materials. Ensure that resources are efficiently allocated to meet project timelines.
  • Critical Path Analysis: Identify the critical path and key milestones of the project schedule, understanding which tasks are most critical for project completion and which activities can tolerate delays.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential schedule risks and constraints, and work with project teams to develop contingency plans to mitigate these risks.
  • Schedule Maintenance: Regularly update and maintain project schedules to reflect changes in project scope, resource availability, and any unforeseen events. Communicate schedule updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor project progress against the schedule, identifying deviations and potential delays. Provide reports and analysis on project performance and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Communication: Facilitate communication among team members, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure everyone is aware of the project schedule and its status. Foster collaboration and problem-solving to keep the project on track.
  • Project Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project schedules, changes, and communications.

Requirements for Role of Project Scheduler

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Certifications in project management methodologies such as PMP (Project Management Professional), PRINCE2 (Projects IN Controlled Environments), or CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) can be advantageous.
  • 2+ years of experience in project scheduling or project management.

Skills And Knowledge Desired

  • Project Management Knowledge: A solid understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices with familiarity in various project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar platforms.
  • Time Management: Excellent time management skills to create and maintain project schedules efficiently with the ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to assess project data, identify trends & make informed decisions based on data analysis with capability. To perform critical path analysis to determine the most critical tasks in the project schedule.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to interact with team members, stakeholders, and clients with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Attention to Detail: Being meticulous and detail-oriented to identify potential scheduling conflicts. And resource constraints and ensuring accuracy in the project schedule to avoid delays and cost overruns.
  • Problem Solving: A proactive approach to identify potential issues and risks in the project schedule. And propose suitable solutions with the ability to handle unexpected changes and adapt the schedule accordingly.
  • Team Collaboration: Working collaboratively with project managers, team members. And stakeholders to create a realistic & achievable project schedule and also facilitating discussions & meetings related to project planning and scheduling.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with project management software, spreadsheet applications, and other relevant tools to create and manage project schedules effectively.
  • Knowledge of Industry Standards: Understanding of industry-specific regulations and standards that may impact project scheduling.
  • Adaptability: The ability to adapt to changing project requirements, timelines, and priorities.
  • Leadership: Possessing leadership qualities to guide the team and project stakeholders through the scheduling process.
