Project Engineer at Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank is responsible to manage the implementation of risk and control management policies, framework and component guidelines across Corporate and Investment Banking Group (CIBG) to ensure risk and control activities are complied with as required by Group Operational Risk Management.

Responsibilities of Project Engineer

  • Risk Assessment: Review Risk and Control Self Assessment (RCSAs) for CIBG business units to ensure key risks are identified, described and assessed and their corresponding controls identified and described in line with the RCSA Guideline.
  • Review Third Party Risk Assessments (TPRA), New Initiatives (products, services, processes, systems and vendors) to ensure they are properly documented and all key risks associated with them are identified, assessed and the respective controls identified and documented.
  • Risk Monitoring and Reconciliation: Monitor open actions under OR tools and follow up with Business Units for timely action.
  • Review Operational Risk Events to ensure relevant accounting records (i.e. gains, losses, provisions, recoveries and restitutions) are correctly update in the General Ledger accounts and reconcile with the records in the Operational Loss Database.
  • Risk and Control Testing: Review, test and recommend changes to key controls to ensure that controls are design effectively while also ensuring their proper implementation.
  • Business Continuity Plan: Implement Business Continuity Plan across CIBG at the pre-defined intervals in order to ensure compliance.

What You’ll Do More?

  • Training and Support: Provide training and awareness on OR in order to promote a risk management and compliance culture.
  • Provide support to CIBG Business Units in order to assist them with the interpretation of policy and framework requirements and Operational Risk Management System (ORMS) implementation.
  • Reporting: Provide input to management reports on the status of operational risk matters and measurements.
  • People Management: Manage self and team in line with ADCB’s people management policies, procedures, processes and practices.
  • Organize and supervise the activities and work of the team to ensure that targets and objectives are achieve.
  • Policies, Processes, Systems and Procedures: Implement approved departmental policies, processes and procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement: Manage and motivate the team to ensure they contribute to, and participate in, the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programs and projects in line with the Bank’s standards.
  • Customer Service: Demonstrate Our Promise and apply the ADCB Service Standards to deliver the Bank’s required levels of service.

Requirements of Project Engineer

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Banking including 3 years of experience in a Risk Management function.

Skills and Knowledge Desired

  • Analytical and logical reasoning.
  • Knowledge of risk and control management tools.
  • Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Word).
  • Knowledge of Banking functions.
