Professor of Immunology, University of Sharjah (UoS)

University of Sharjah (UoS) is presently hiring suitably qualified and experienced candidate for the job role of a Associate Professor/Professor of Immunology. The selected candidate will join the Department of Clinical Sciences, College of Medicine, UoS. The Clinical Sciences Department is aiming to expand its immunology program, with particular emphasis on cancer immunology, therefore requires candidate on above mentioned roles. Job Purpose of A Professor of Immunology

Teach undergraduate and graduate students as well as engage & maintain collaborative research program on cancer immunology including cancer micro environment, cancer genetics, cancer immune evasion, cancer gene therapy/stem cell therapy.

Job Duties of A Professor of Immunology

• Devote time for teaching & for conducting research in the College of Medicine.
• Teach courses on cancer immunology and related subjects to both undergraduate and graduate students.
• Manage projects and serve as an expert of cancer immunology.
• Maintain an independent and internationally competitive research program.
• Supervise postdocs, graduate students and technical personnel in research projects in cancer immunology.
• Apply for external funding, both national and international.
• Actively participate in academic, industry and health care collaborations.
• Perform any other job duty in the field of expertise as asked by the university authorities.

Qualification & Experience

• Ph.D. in immunology.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in teaching graduate and undergraduate courses.
• Priority for candidates with a strong publication record in cancer immunology.
• Research experience & interest in colorectal and lung cancer is also a plus.
• Track record of excellence in teaching undergraduate medical students, as well as graduate students in molecular medicine.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

• A record of peer reviewed publications and evidence of potential for teaching.
• Excellent writing skills.
• Good interpersonal & communications skills and a demonstrated ability to work with others in a collegial team atmosphere.
