Job Description

GEMS FirstPoint School The Villa Dubai is presently accepting applications from suitable candidate for the job role of Primary Year Head for a September 2024 start. Responsibilities of Primary Year Head

  • Embrace and encourage the ethos and standards of excellence as defined in the GEMS Core Values.
  • Work closely with the Executive leadership team to establish effective and globally relevant practices of learning & teaching. Implement the schools vision for quality in the school linked with the GEMS expectation of excellent education.
  • Integrate GEMS core values into the planning and delivery of all curricular and co curricular lessons and activities.
  • Develop minimum learning outcomes for all subjects and set benchmarks to raise standards.
  • Help staff develop professionally and meet time based school improvement targets.
  • Conduct needs based lesson observations / lesson appraisal and provide focused effective feedback in order to meet school targets.
  • Initiate effort and energy beyond the typical workday, where the tasks require additional commitment.
  • Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
  • Perform other duties as requested by direct & dotted reporting line managers / supervisors.

Job Requirements of Primary Year Head

  • Bachelor qualification or equivalent with a Teacher Training Qualification.
  • Minimum 3 year experience in similar role.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

  • Quality of learning & teaching across the school is judged against the GEMS Educational Standards
  • Effective teamwork with all levels of teaching staff.
  • Students demonstrate clear learning outcomes across all levels.
  • Success in co curricular activities.
