Primary SENDCO – GEMS Wellington International School, Dubai

GEMS Wellington International School in Dubai is recruiting a Primary SENDCO (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator) to lead inclusion provision across the primary phase. This role is essential for ensuring all primary students receive the support they need to access the curriculum and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate SEN provision across the primary school, managing a team of learning support assistants
• Identify, assess and support students with special educational needs
• Develop and oversee Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and provision maps
• Liaise with parents, external specialists and the school’s inclusion team
• Provide training and support to classroom teachers on differentiation and inclusive practice
• Ensure compliance with KHDA inclusion standards

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education or related field
• PGCE, QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
• National SENCo Award or equivalent (mandatory)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in SEN coordination
• Knowledge of KHDA inclusion requirements

Salary and Benefits

• Tax-free salary: AED 18,000 – 25,000 per month
