Job Description
A Postdoc position is available at the Research institute of Sciences & Engineering (RISE) in the general area of environmental resources conservation and protection, specifically environmental microbial surveillance, risk assessment and genomics. The postdoc will join a group of researchers involved in studies related to water/wastewater quality, treatment, and reuse, environmental monitoring and genomics, and reservoirs of antimicrobial resistance. Special interest include risk assessment of emerging pollutants and application of bioinformatics pipelines in elucidation of microbial community dynamics. The candidate is expected to lead projects and work with existing researchers on ongoing projects.
Responsibilities of Postdoc
- Conduct research and prepare scientific publications.
- Assist in supervising RAs and graduate students’ work.
- Assist in preparing research grant applications.
Job Requirements of Postdoc
- A completed PhD in a relevant field.
- Two years’ work experience in conducting relevant research.
- Knowledge and experience in environmental monitoring.
- Knowledge and experience in molecular microbiology.
- Knowledge and experience in multiple areas of relevant research.
- Strong experimental and analytical experience.
- A summary of project research experience.
Skills & Knowledge Desired
- Computer knowledge: MS Word & Excel.
- Strong knowledge on bioinformatics pipelines.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Proven record in publishing research outcomes in journals and conferences.
- Strong communication skills.
- Team spirit and high potential for engagement ion collaborative work.
