Post Doctoral Fellow at Khalifa University is responsible to conduct a specified research program under the supervision and direction of the faculty supervisor, in this case, the director of the center. The primary purpose of the role is to carry out experimental research in the area of materials for CO2 reduction and hydrogen production from different sources, including their application to sustainable fuels, when appropriate. In addition, it is expected that the candidate will support the experimental work and management of the RICH labs, by running some key equipment while training other users.

Responsibilities of Post Doctoral Fellow

• Conduct the specified research program as defined by the approved project proposal, under the supervision and direction of the Principal Investigator.
• Work in a collegial and cooperative manner with the Principal Investigator and other co workers in the RICH Center leadership team and other faculty and researchers, if appropriate.
• Engage in the dissemination of the results of the research, as directed by and with the support of and under the supervision of the Principal Investigator.
• Support the Center Director, leadership team and research project members in the design. Development of the research program for the assigned project/labs and related areas.
• Carry out administrative and management work associated with the research program and the project as required by the Principal Investigator.
• Support dissemination activities of the project and the RICH Center.
• Engage in appropriate training and professional development opportunities as required by the Faculty supervisor, the RICH Center, the Department or the University.
• Propose new ideas and support the development of proposals for external research funding.
• Engage in the wider research and scholarly activities of the research center, department, and university.
• Generate new ideas and links and build upon existing ideas to propose unique concepts and solutions.
• Adhere to the University’s information security and confidentiality policies and procedures, and report breaches or other security risks accordingly.

Job Requirements of Post Doctoral Fellow

• PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or related areas.
• Minimum 3 year experience in similar role.
• Experience, at least at the user level, in some experimental procedures for materials synthesis, characterization and testing for the areas of focus of RICH.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

• Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
• Good understanding of operational requirements for a successful research project and managing resources.
• A good track record of research publications in high impact journals.
• Proven expertise in the areas of expertise of the RICH center, including sustainable fuels, CO2 and/or hydrogen.
• Some knowledge of computational modeling tools.
