A full-time position with the Engineering department at Fairmont Ajman in Ajman, UAE, is known as the Pool Technician. Responsibilities
- To maintain pool water safe, check its pH, chlorine content, and other parameters daily.
- To balance the water, add chemicals like algaecide or chlorine.
- Use scrubbing, vacuuming, or skimming to clean water features, pools, and Jacuzzis.
- To keep pumps, heaters, filters, and dosing systems operating, check and maintain them.
- For speedy solutions, identify equipment issues and report them.
- Maintain thorough records of all maintenance, water testing, and chemical usage.
- Ensure that any safety signs surrounding pools are visible and up.
- Respond fast to guest or team requests about pool issues.
- Help keep the pool deck tidy, including furniture and lights.
- Work with Health Club or Recreation teams for a smooth guest experience.
- Follow UAE health and safety rules for pool work.
- Do regular checks on water features to keep them working.
- Help with small plumbing or electrical tasks if needed.
- Keep pool areas clean and hazard-free.
Requirements
Education
Diploma or certificate in pool maintenance or engineering is helpful but not required.
Experience
2 years working as a pool technician in hotels, resorts, or similar places.
Skills
- Good at testing and balancing pool water chemistry.
- Able to clean and fix pool equipment like pumps and filters.
- Fit enough to work outside in all kinds of weather.
- Organized with keeping logs and reports accurate.
- Clear communicator for working with teams and guests.
- Can handle small equipment fixes on their own.
Knowledge
- Knows pool chemicals, filtration systems, and water safety rules well.
- Understands UAE’s health and safety rules for pools.
- Familiar with pool cleaning and maintenance methods.
- Knows what hotels expect for pool and guest areas.
- Some knowledge of plumbing or electrical systems is a plus.
- Understands how to keep guests happy in a hotel setting.
