Job Purpose of A Podiatrist

Responsible to diagnose and treat minor or serious injuries and diseases of the feet, ankles and the lower part of legs.

Job Duties of A Podiatrist

• Review patients medical history and examine patients legs to diagnose diseases.
• Perform foot and ankle surgeries (for example, removing bone spurs).
• Treat sport related foot and leg injuries.
• Use various podiatric techniques to treat deformities and ailments.
• Prescribe joint pain relief medication and foot orthoses that improve mobility.
• Manage high risk podiatry care.
• Advice patients on foot care and general wellness practices.
• Order additional medical tests (like X-rays, ultrasounds and bone density tests) to form a better diagnosis, if necessary.
• Demonstrate knowledge and consideration of age specific issues relating to meeting the needs of patients of all ages.
• Maintain up to date knowledge and ensure compliance with all regulatory and professional standards of care.
• Stay up-to-date with latest technologies and treatments in Podiatry.
• Exemplify the company’s vision, mission and values.
• Respect patient’s right to confidentiality.
• Personally accept responsibility for client service.
• Understand and work according to corporate policies and procedures.

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Podiatry.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.

Knowledge & Skills Desired

• Valid MOH /DHA or DOH license.
• Excellent knowledge of therapeutic and surgical treatments for the lower extremities.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Effective planning and technical skills.
