Responsibilities of A PMC Process Specialist

  • Be able to review and supervise of work of Process Engineering Teams in Feasibility, Conceptual Studies, Pre – FEED, FEED and EPC Projects.
  • Undertake review of process design work of units as required, supervise and check works of assigned engineers on the project as appropriate.
  • Review the execution of process engineering activities within the budget and schedule, as well as maintaining technical integrity of the design.
  • Ensure that detail design methods, standards and data used conform with Client’s requirements and / or those issued.
  • Be responsible for the checking or approval of basis of design, process calculations, safety related calculations to develop the robust design.
  • Review and approve Process Flow Diagrams, P&IDs, PSFS, DPTDs, Equipment & Instrument specifications, Process Descriptions, cause, and Effect chart etc.
  • Review and approve dynamic simulation study, transient study, surge study, Minimum Metal Design Temperature (MDMT) study, etc.
  • Review and approve depressurization studies, flare load estimation and flare system design.
  • Ensure a high standard of safety is achieved and Environmental and Quality Assurance procedures are followed.
  • Review and approve safety related calculations and provide input to HAZOP, SIL and other safety reviews as required.

What You’ll Do More

  • Identifying new methodology of work process required for higher productivity.
  • Contribute where necessary to review of supplier quotations and reviews of the project.
  • Ensure that requirements of Licensor’s Secrecy Agreements are known and complied within the work performed.
  • Participate in technical meetings and handle discussions with client engineers
  • Identification of issues that impede project progress and reporting to Project Managers, Engineering Manager / Discipline heads.
  • As Lead Discipline Engineer, when assigned on projects, responsible for managing the team of engineers, designers, and delivering the engineering requirements of the project.
  • Be willing to mentor and engage in the training and development of junior engineers in the team.
  • Assist project team in the preparation of planning package, scheduling, weekly reporting etc.
  • Assist as required in the preparation of pre – commissioning, commission procedures and operating Manuals.
  • Provide assistance in Manhours estimation and scheduling for proposals.

Eligibility Requirements

The eligibility requirements for the role of PMC Process Specialist are given below:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 15+ years of relevant experience in the upstream Oil & Gas industry, including 5 years (preferred) in GCC region.
  • 5 years of experience in similar position in a mega Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects
  • ADNOC experience is desirable.
  • Experience of working in a multi – project / multi – disciplined environment and throughout all engineering and design phases of projects.
  • Previous experience in EPC/EPCm Oil & Gas projects within the upstream sector in wellhead development projects and facilities and have worked on ADNOC Projects.
  • Process Simulation software’s such as HYSYS, Flare System Analyzer, PipeNet, Pipesim, OLGA etc. and should be a subject matter expert.
  • Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software.
