Responsibilities

  • Fix up appliances like toilets or sinks in guest rooms to keep them spotless.
  • Install new fittings, like a sleek bathtub for a renovated suite.
  • Maintain heating systems, ensuring the spa’s sauna stays cozy.
  • Service air-conditioning units to keep the lobby cool in Dubai’s heat.
  • Tackle emergency repairs, like a burst pipe in the middle of the night.
  • Work with contractors to fit out new bathrooms or upgrade plumbing.
  • Run daily checks around the hotel, spotting leaks or drips early.
  • Diagnose plumbing issues, like low water pressure in a guest shower.
  • Keep fixtures safe and functional, fixing anything that could cause trouble.
  • Build good vibes with guests and staff, explaining fixes if needed.
  • Report big issues, like a faulty pump, to the facilities manager.
  • Handle special projects, like setting up plumbing for a new bar.
  • Train staff on basic safety, like shutting off water valves.
  • Log monthly safety inspections to keep everything up to code.
  • Stay ready for any curveballs, like a sudden AC breakdown.

Requirements

Education

S/NVQ Level 3 in plumbing and domestic plumbing.

Experience

Previous plumbing experience in hotels or similar settings preferred.
