University Hospital Sharjah is presently seeking qualified and motivated candidates for the role of a Physiotherapy InPatient. The successful candidate will play a major role in advanced assessment and treatment of the inpatients who may have complex or chronic presentation, determine clinical diagnosis and physiotherapy treatment indicated, and maintain records. Responsibilities of A Physiotherapy InPatient

• Participates in all aspects of the International Accreditation program to assist UHS attain and maintain international accreditation standards
• Undertakes the comprehensive assessment of patients, including those with a complex presentation, using investigative and analytical skills, and formulates individualised management and treatment plans, using clinical reasoning, utilising a wide range treatment skills and options to formulate a specialised programme of care.
• Accepts clinical responsibility for a designated caseload of patient and organise this effectively and efficiently with regard to clinical priorities and use of time.
• Coordinates with the physicians like Orthopaedic, Rheumatology, Paediatric, Cardio, Gyne and Surgeons regarding patient’s progress and discussing future plans.
• Provides spontaneous and planned advice, teach and instruction to colleagues and other professionals, to promote understanding of the aims of physiotherapy and ensures a consistent approach to patient care.
• Trains, supervises and manages performance of more junior staff, assistants and students, ensuring high standard of care.
• Communicates effectively with patients to maximise rehabilitation potential and to ensure understanding of condition.
• Responsible for ensuring the effective selection and use of all treatment resources available both in the department and on the wards.
• Responsible for equipment used in carrying out physiotherapy duties to adhere to departmental policy, including competence to use equipment and to ensure the safe use of equipment by others through teaching, training and supervision of practice.
• Maintains accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date documentation and communicates assessment and treatment results using appropriate form of reports.
• Involove in the monthly collection of appropriate data and statistics for the use of the department.
• Comply with the all organisational and departmental policies and procedures.

Qualification Requirements for Role of Physiotherapy InPatient

• Graduate of Bachelor’s of Science in Physiotherapy.
• 2-3 years of inpatient experience.
• Valid Ministry of Health Evaluation.

Desired Skills

• Managing orthopaedic, neurology, cardiac, pediatric, geriatric, gynaecology cases with advanced physiotherapy techniques like Electrotherapy, exercises therapy, PNF techniques, manual techniques.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid interpersonal communication skills for working with patients, their families and other medical staff.
• Detail-oriented, organized, self-directed and quick-thinking.
• Able to motivate well and also must be physically fit to show patients how to perform various treatment plan exercises.
