Physiotherapist II Mubadala Health Abu Dhabi

Reporting to the Rehabilitation Manager/ Senior Manager, Physiotherapy, the Physiotherapist II at Mubadala Health is responsible for evaluating patients referred to physiotherapy. He / she should be able to organize and implement individualized therapeutic programs and monitor the patients progress and response to treatment. The role holder will demonstrate clinical knowledge and understanding that is relevant to their area of practice and underpins their individual scope of practice.

Responsibilities of Physiotherapist

• Recognise their role and responsibilities within the patients plan of care.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of anatomy and physiology, evidence-based practice, and physiotherapy practice of service users through the life span.
• Operate in line with MH and DOH/DHA policies, procedures, guidelines and standards.
• Interprets referrals and conducts initial evaluation, problem identification and diagnosis of physiological and psychological functioning.
• Develops, delivers, and modifies treatment plans and provides appropriate treatment for an individual’s physiological and/or psychological needs within the context of the person as an individual.
• Defines patient-centred goals and educates the patient, caregivers, and IDT of these.
• Informs patients about their recommended physiotherapy treatment plans and treatment modalities. Ensures understanding, consent and cooperation from the patient prior to commencing the therapy.
• Uses relevant standardized outcome measures to evaluate progress.
• Appropriately monitors patient tolerance and response to therapeutic interventions.
• Provides progressions and modifications to the treatment plan as necessary to achieve the established patient centred goals.
• Conducts constant risk assessments and adheres to necessary safety measures during therapy sessions.
• Uses appropriate strategies to effectively facilitate client self-management and health promotion education to enhance health and well-being
• Develops and maintains records and reports of all patient assessments and treatments in an accurate and timely manner that reflect specific information and services provided to the patient.
• Ensures that administrative tasks linked to patient care, including documentation, billing, insurance submissions, and requests are completed as per policy and regulations.
• Liaises with Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation team and clinical caregivers on the suitability of clinical equipment and inventory supplies.

Eligiblity Criteria

Following are the requirements for the role of Physiotherapist II at Mubadala Health:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy or Physical Therapy OR Direct entry of a recognized program with attainment of a MSc degree in Physiotherapy.
• Minimum of 3 years of continuous experience post qualification in the physiotherapy and rehabilitation field.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of musculoskeletal physiotherapy, neurological physiotherapy, paediatric physiotherapy and pre and post-operative rehabilitation, relevant procedures and current best practices.
• Good understanding of physiotherapy and rehabilitation relevant regulations.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate and relay messages to patients in a culturally sensitive manner.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
