Physiotherapist 1 in Physiotherapy at SSMC in Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, Abu Dhabi, UAE will be responsible for providing safe, effective, evidence based and comprehensive physiotherapy services. This is an Intermediate level full time job. And salary can range between 7000-15000 AED/month.

Responsibilities of Physiotherapist

  • Show a good experience in out-patient rehabilitation and deal with different medical conditions such as musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiovascular, burns. And other conditions. Assists the senior physiotherapist to ensure the physiotherapy service to the assigned unit/s is efficient and effective.
  • Show a good experience in treating post-operative patients, including post orthopedic trauma and elective surgeries.
  • Contributes to the sustainable implementation of plans (strategic, financial, quality/patient safety, accessibility/marketing, manpower/cultural diversity, risk, infection control, equipment/technology) for effective. And efficient business and clinical practice and patient satisfaction for the designated unit/units
  • Conduct comprehensive assessment for patients to determine their physical condition and needs. Perform a thorough screening for the red and yellow flags, and refer patients when needed.
  • Receives guidance and development from supervisor/senior on their units/designated areas for objective setting, appraisals, skill and equipment competency and training, duty rosters, annual leave, supervision and reflective practice and the delegation of tasks, etc
  • Ensures awareness and alignment with vision, mission, values, national licensing, organizational & departmental policies, clinical guidelines, mandatory competencies.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate manual therapy techniques, goal-directed therapeutic exercise and other evidence-based interventions.
  • Safely and efficiently deliver manual therapy techniques and prescribe therapeutic exercises upon patients’ needs. Pro-active clinical and environmental risk identification.
  • May take responsibility for day-to-day operations of assigned unit/s in the absence of a senior.
  • Efficiently utilize the available treatment modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, heat, cryotherapy, shock wave, laser, etc, as appropriate.
  • Educate patients on injury prevention, self-management strategies and home care program. Clinical competency in assigned specialist area/s.
  • Maintain effective multidisciplinary communication with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech-language therapists, etc. To ensure integrated patient care.

What you will do more

  • Maintain accurate and detailed patients documentation, including initial evaluation, progress notes, discharge note, multidisciplinary notes, etc. that fulfil the local and international standards.
  • Development of effective teaching skills and experience for facilitation of interns/students
  • Facilitates the delivery of high standard of specialized clinical care of patient’s in the designated unit/s. Use evidence-based practice to guide informed consent, assessment, goal setting/treatment planning, effective treatment, evaluation/re-evaluation of outcomes and appropriate progression/discharge planning
  • Communicating effectively with patients, relatives and other care providers on a group or individual basis in order to maximize rehabilitative potential. This may require explanation instruction, persuasion, motivation, negotiation and reassurance or the use of behavioral modification techniques.
  • Maintaining and assisting in the enforcement of up-to-date clinical and professional knowledge development, according to organizational/unit/s requirements.
  • Remain updated on the latest evidence-based advancements in the field of physiotherapy, and incorporate best practice into daily patients care.
  • Continue an active and flexible team-member who accepts, respects and supports others and can withstand emerging challenges.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives, as appropriate.
  • Assists with maintenance of sufficient inventory of material supplies and equipment for performance of duties. By following procedures for the management of these items.
  • Accountabilities: Clinical competency and performance measurement (safety, efficiency, effectiveness and satisfaction) and management for assigned unit/s.

Requirements for Role of Physiotherapist

  • BSc in Physiotherapy.
  • Current National License.
  • 2 years post graduate experience as a Physiotherapist in a large hospital in relevant experience with patients with same diagnosis seen in acute care hospital or Rehab Facilities)). Wide background is preferred (i.e. ICU, acute medical/surgical, pediatrics.
  • UAE National upon completion of internship.
  • Master’s in Rehabilitation Services or relevant clinical Msc in related field. (will reduce 1 year from the required years of experience) (Desired)
