The University of Khorfakkan needs a qualified Sociology Professor to join its faculty. This full time role involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in sociology. You will cover key topics such as social theory, cultural studies, social change, and contemporary social issues. Your goal is to deliver excellent teaching and research. In addition, you will supervise graduation projects, master theses, and doctoral dissertations. You will also contribute to curriculum development. If you hold a PhD in Sociology or a closely related field, this role is for you. At least three years of successful teaching experience at both undergraduate and graduate levels is required.

Key Responsibilities for PhD Holders in Sociology Khor Fakkan

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in sociology. Cover social theory, cultural studies, social change, and contemporary social issues. Use e learning and digital technology effectively.
• Engage in research activities and initiate projects. Publish your findings in internationally recognized, peer reviewed journals. Supervise graduation projects, master theses, and doctoral dissertations.
• Contribute to curriculum development. Update and enhance sociology programs to reflect contemporary global and regional challenges. Participate in academic accreditation processes. Ensure compliance with the UAE Commission for Academic Accreditation and international standards.
• Perform administrative duties as assigned by the department, college, or university. Engage in community service initiatives. These include organizing events and providing consultancy in sociological research and public policy.
• Offer academic advising and student mentorship. Support students’ academic and professional development. Finally, play an active role in the advancement of the college and university. Contribute to research, teaching, and community engagement efforts.

Qualifications

You need a PhD in Sociology or a closely related field from a recognized university. At least three years of successful teaching experience at both undergraduate and graduate levels in sociology or related disciplines is required. A strong research record with publications in high impact, peer reviewed journals or journals indexed in Scopus is essential. You must have experience supervising graduation projects, master theses, and doctoral dissertations. A proven ability to establish collaborations with academic institutions, research organizations, and industry partners is necessary. A demonstrated history of contributing to university and community service initiatives is also required. Preference goes to candidates with experience in e learning and online education. Proficiency in integrating digital technology and AI into curriculum design and instruction is also preferred.
