Job Purpose of A Pharmacist

Dispense medications following prescriptions issued by physicians, dentists, or other authorized medical practitioners.

Job Duties of A Pharmacist

• Dispense medications to inpatient as per prescription.
• Reviews and interprets each prescription / medication order before dispensing to ascertain correctness of strength, dose instructions and dosage form.
• Patient counseling- Provides appropriate patient information concerning the dispensed medications.
• Clarify any prescription abnormality with the prescribing physician. Any unresolved problems are farword to chief pharmacist.
• Supervise the repackaging, labeling and documentation of medications issued to other departments.
• Answers drug related inquiries received from doctors, nurses and customers. Those inquiries which cannot be answered with certainty are to be referred to the chief pharmacist.
• Assists in the training of new pharmacist staff.
• Performs specialty pharmacy activities, as delegated and trained.
• Responsible for medicine’s stock, near expiry medicines monitoring & updating controlled medicine register on daily wise.
• Performs other miscellaneous duties, as directed by the chief pharmacist.
• To follow appropriate international guidelines, DHA regulations & Joint Commission International norms while treating or managing patients as well as while discharging their professional duties.

Eligibility Criteria?

Qualification

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college or school of pharmacy.

Experience

• At least 2 years experience in a hospital.

License

• DHA license.

Knowledge and Skills Desired

• Thorough knowledge of UAE Laws, company policies, regulations precedents applicable to the area of work.
• Good command of English. Arabic is desirable
