About the Role

The Inpatient Pharmacist will be responsible for managing and dispensing medications for hospitalized patients at Specialized Rehabilitation Hospital. Furthermore, this role involves reviewing physician orders, ensuring medication safety, and providing pharmaceutical consultations to the clinical care team. Moreover, the successful candidate will play a critical role in optimizing drug therapy outcomes and promoting evidence-based medication management practices. The position is based at the Zayed Sports City campus in Abu Dhabi.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and verify physician medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential interactions
• Dispense medications accurately and in a timely manner for inpatient units
• Monitor patient drug therapy and provide recommendations for dose adjustments or alternative treatments
• Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals on pharmaceutical care plans
• Support the implementation of medication safety protocols and adverse drug reaction reporting
• Lead medication reconciliation processes during patient admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Maintain accurate inventory records and manage controlled substance documentation
• Contribute to pharmacy quality improvement programs and clinical audits
• Promote antimicrobial stewardship and rational use of medications across the hospital
• Participate in continuing education, staff training, and professional development activities

Requirements

• Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
• Valid pharmacy license recognized by the Abu Dhabi Department of Health (DOH)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in hospital or inpatient pharmacy practice
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and clinical pharmacy principles
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
• Strong communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage
• Experience with hospital pharmacy information systems and electronic health records preferred
