About the Role
The Pharmacist at Mirdif Private Hospital will manage the dispensing of prescription medications, verify drug orders, and provide clinical pharmacy services to hospital patients. Furthermore, the role involves counseling patients on medication use, monitoring for drug interactions, and ensuring compliance with DHA pharmaceutical regulations. Moreover, the pharmacist will collaborate with the medical team to optimize medication therapy outcomes across all hospital departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense inpatient and outpatient medications accurately and in accordance with DHA standards
- Review physician orders for drug interactions, allergies, and appropriate dosing
- Provide medication counseling and education to patients and their families
- Manage controlled substance dispensing and maintain accurate narcotics records
- Coordinate with physicians and nurses on formulary management and therapeutic alternatives
- Conduct medication reconciliation for admitted and discharged patients
- Maintain pharmacy inventory and manage procurement of pharmaceutical supplies
- Participate in clinical pharmacy rounds and antimicrobial stewardship programs
- Support pharmacy quality improvement and medication safety initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited university
- Valid DHA license or eligibility for DHA licensing as a Pharmacist
- Minimum 2 years of hospital or community pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and pharmaceutical regulations
- Experience with pharmacy management systems and electronic prescribing platforms
- Excellent attention to detail, patient communication, and organizational skills in English
