Purpose of A Patient Escort Paediatric Clinic

Assists in the smooth flow of the Pediatric department through supporting patients while maintaining confidentiality. Escort patients to the registration desk, physicians room and during the discharge. Answer all patient queries and ensure the smooth flow.

Job Duties of A Patient Escort Paediatric Clinic

• Escort patients upon arrival and guide them through the Pediatric Center and ensure as smooth discharge as needed.
• Provides information to the patient regarding registration, phlebotomy and pharmacy within the Pediatric Center related to all inquiries.
• Update patients about the waiting time.
• Follow up with the nurses on the timely screening of the patients.
• Ensures safe working environment through strict compliance with Hospital Policy and Procedure regarding safety, infection and security.
• Promotes incident, customer complaint reporting to improve patient and family care.
• Answers phone call in a polite and cordial manner. Maintains proper telephone etiquette.
• Maintains accurate knowledge of scheduled functions within the hospital to direct visitors to correct locations.
• Remains in assigned post position, maintaining correct posture.
• Makes sure the wheelchairs are available.
• Participates in staff meetings as assigned.
• Monitors and maintain tidiness and organization of all work areas.
• Complies with policies for personal and patient safety for provision of healthcare associated infections. Assists with maintaining cleanliness of the waiting areas. Ensures that the place of work and surrounding area is kept clean & organized at all time.
• Shares knowledge and skills with colleagues and others.
• Reports equipment failure, safety and security issues, and or / reduction of supply inventory to PRR Supervisor/Coordinator.
• Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks ensuring effective functioning of the area.
• Follows the chain of command in reporting incidents or concerns.
• Acts appropriately on assigned areas of duty.
• Answers patient’s queries regarding location of hospital facilities.

Eligibility Criteria?

Qualification

• High School National Diploma.

Experience

• 1-2 years of experience in similar role.
