Operations Manager Hypermarket/Supermarket GMG Dubai

Operations Manager in Hypermarket/Supermarket at GMG in GMG Building, Umm Hurair Rd, Oud Metha, Dubai, UAE will oversee multiple store locations within a specific geographic area. Ensure that all stores under his jurisdiction meet the company’s operational standards and performance metrics. This role involves strategic planning, resource allocation, and cross-store coordination to achieve uniformity and efficiency across the region. Often serve as a liaison between corporate leadership and individual store managers, translating high-level strategies into actionable plans. Expertise is vital in chain retailers that require consistency and adherence to corporate policies across various markets. The role holder is responsible for maximizing sales performance across all areas. This is a Senior level full time job. And salary can range between 20000-40000 AED/month.

Responsibilities of Operations Manager

  • Assists in formulating and implementing store strategies and procedures to maximize sales, profitability. And commercial performance of all retail outlets in the assigned cluster of areas.
  • Sets KPI’s and targets, monitors performance against plan and initiates remedial actions in case of discrepancy between actual and expected performance.
  • Generates and analyses sales figures, forecasts future sales and interpret trends to facilitate area operations planning.
  • Works with the area managers and store management to ensure that store displays, and inventory levels are adequate to meet the forecast sales budget.
  • Monitors stock to achieve bottom line sales budget against monthly targets.
  • Recommends and implements actions required to address stores experiencing decreasing sales.
  • Works closely with the Loss Prevention to ensure that loss prevention programs are in place across all store locations.
  • Tours the sales floor regularly, talks to colleagues and customers to help resolve urgent issues.
  • Maintains awareness of market trends understands changing customer attitudes and buying preferences and monitors the competition to ensure that sales opportunities are maximized.
  • Ensures that all relevant communications are relayed in a timely manner to store management.
  • Ensures that store schedules reflect a store staffing model that meets customer needs.
  • Ensures that the team is adequately trained in inventory management techniques such as in bound and out bound movement of goods, receiving, stocking, restocking, transfers and managing inventory discrepancies.
  • Maximizes productivity in stores through effective deployment of resources; controls costs within budgetary guidelines (overtime, stock and consumables) through efficient store operations.
  • Ensures all the stores are in compliance with all employment and state laws, health and safety standards.

Requirements for Role of Operations Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  • A minimum of 10-12 years of relevant experience with at least 6 years in a similar role in FMCG Retail Operations is a must

  • Inventory Management and Optimization Supply Chain Coordination.
  • Point of Sale (POS) Systems Proficiency Financial Reporting and Analysis Retail Analytics and Data Interpretation.
