- Dissemination of knowledge through undergraduate and / or graduate teaching.

Responsibilities of Open Rank Faculty
Teaching
- Teach at undergraduate and graduate levels in subject areas and on time schedules allocated by the Chair of the Department.
- Prepare teaching materials, including course outlines, syllabi, and lesson plans, and revise subject matter as appropriate.
- Contribute to the development, planning, and implementation of a high quality curriculum.
- Provide students with detailed syllabi, methods of instruction, and evaluation criteria for their courses.
- Participate in the selection of textbooks and teaching aids necessary for instruction.
- Monitor students’ performance and provide remedial classes when necessary.
- Set and evaluate exams, coursework, assignments, laboratory work, homework, and other relevant activities.
- Utilize up to date instructional technology to ensure clear and consistent delivery.
- Supervise students’ research, practical work, and thesis preparation and participate in the evaluation of their theses.
- Participate in professional peer reviews.
- Supervise teaching internships.
- Continuously develop and improve scholarly competence and teaching effectiveness within their area of expertise.
Research, Scholarly, and Creative Activities:
- Conduct research and produce publications or research outputs in alignment with personal objectives agreed upon in the review process.
- Engage in scholarly or creative activities within their area of expertise and make results available for critical peer review.
- Deliver papers at professional association meetings, seminars, and conferences.
- Participate in panels at regional and international meetings of professional organizations.
- Identify and secure external funding and grants.
- Actively promote the Department and Faculty’s profile, both internally and externally.
- Participate in departmental and faculty seminars to share research outcomes and build interdisciplinary collaborations.
- Collaborate with colleagues within and outside the University in conducting and managing research and consultancy activities.
Academic Service of Open Rank Faculty
- Contribute to departmental or University wide working groups or committees as requested.
- Assist in student recruitment, retention, and placement efforts.
- Serve the community at large in participatory, developmental, or advisory capacities.
- Support and participate in student organization activities.
- Adhere to the University’s information security and confidentiality policies and report breaches or security risks.
- Coordinate with other departments as needed to accomplish tasks and responsibilities.
- Contribute to the academic community through peer review, editorial roles, and involvement in professional organizations.
- Engage in outreach, collaboration, and public engagement activities.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager.
Job Requirements
The requirements for the job role of Open Rank Faculty are as under:
- PhD or equivalent terminal degree, in related discipline from from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 3 year experience in similar role.
