The Roads and Transport Authority, commonly known as RTA, is the major independent government roads & transportation authority in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It was founded in 2005 and is responsible for planning and carrying out transport and traffic projects, along with laws and well thought of plans for transportation in the city. It is a department of the Government of Dubai. RTA has also won many awards such as in the Gulf Sustainability Awards 2022 and the Brandon Hall Excellence Award 2022. It is currently hiring a Senior Officer (UAE nationals only).

Job Overview for a Senior Officer

A Senior Officer at RTA needs to oversee the preparation of monthly staff roster in bus stations. The Officer is also supposed to oversee the preparation of monthly roster for drivers and to enter them in the system.

Responsibilities of a Senior Officer

• 24/7 presence in emergency and crisis situations, including site visits where necessary.
• Contribute to management of the assets of depots and follow up facilities and the maintenance required for it.
• Follow-up with accidents and breakdown of buses and follow-up with their maintenance to ensure their return to work without further delay.
• Follow up with the notes and complaints submitted by drivers, analyze and send them to the concerned authorities according to the approved procedures.
• Apply law enforcement and participation in the inspection campaigns against offending passengers at bus stations.
• Manage lost and found items and making sure to deliver that the items to the concerned authorities.

What You Will Do

• Contribute to reviewing the main operation and data for key performance indicators to ensure the
  implementation of a Strategic Plan.
• Guide staff and drivers to provide creative ideas and suggestions to raise the level of services.
• Assist the depot manager in the development of action plans, financial and human resource budgets and annual programmes for all operations and operating activities.
• Supervise the application of all operation procedures which are associated with the operation in the depot.
• Follow up with Designated companies regarding public bus cleanliness, A/C and new systems.
• Follow up with the entering and updating of bus data and numbers in related programs.
• Audit security and safety bus depots and ensure their availability and maintenance on the scheduled timings.

Eligibility Criteria

• Bachelor / Higher Diploma in Business Administration with 0-2 years of experience. OR
• Diploma with minimum 2 years of experience. OR
• High School with minimum 5 years of experience.
