Job Purpose of A Nurse Manager Pediatric Clinics

The job purpose of a Pediatric Clinics – Nurse Manager is to oversee and manage the nursing staff, operations, and patient care within a pediatric clinic to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality healthcare services for pediatric patients.

Job Duties of A Nurse Manager Pediatric Clinics

  • Promotes attendance at hospital and unit based in-services.
  • Actively participates in departmental/hospital-wide PI activities.
  • Co-ordinates a fully documented Performance Improvement Project annually.
  • Promotes continuous performance improvement in daily operations.
  • Participates in collecting and/or reviewing data to enhance services within the department and makes recommendations to modify unit’s clinical practice based on QI findings.
  • Ensures a safe working environment through compliance with hospital policies and procedures regarding safety, infection control, and security.
  • Promotes incident and customer complaint reporting to improve patient and family care.
  • Thoroughly investigates all incidents and customer complaints.
  • Initiates risk management processes suited to needs of patients in unit.
  • Facilitates unit’s work flow, assignments of tasks and follows up on staffing issues.
  • Serves as a clinical role model to staff.
  • Knowledge of general nursing principles and practices with ability to recognize and apply basic pathophysiology in the disease process.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of, and the ability to, render care based on age appropriateness and developmental needs of patients.
  • Creates and supports an environment which fosters teamwork, cooperation, and respect for cultural diversity.
  • Ensures all staff receives written annual/probationary evaluations by review date.

Who Can Apply?

Qualification

  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing (duration not less than three years).

or

  • Diploma in Nursing (not less than three academic years in nursing only).

or

  • Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery (not less than three academic years).
  • Post Graduate Qualification in Nursing Management/Advanced Clinical Speciality preferable.

Experience

  • At least 5-7 years of nursing experience in related specialty.
  • At least 2 years of Managerial Experience.
  • Demonstrates incremental leadership and management experience.
  • Private hospital experience preferred.

License & Certification

  • Current license to practice nursing in country of origin and with the DHA.
  • BLS certification.
