Kanad Hospital is actively seeking a dedicated and competent NICU Specialist to join their dynamic team in Al Ain, UAE. Duties as NICU Specialist
- Caring for newborns in the NICU and involve in training the nursing staff.
- Involve in teaching programs. Shall maintain a high standard in infection control in NICU and help in developing this unit.
- Attends all high risk deliveries including Preterm deliveries, MSAF, Breech and mom’s with abnormal CTG and C-sections.
- Provide neonatal resuscitation independently and as team leader
- Work in a non-judgmental anti-discriminatory way, with regard to the cultural and religious beliefs of individuals and groups.
- Prior to any course of action involving individuals/groups, obtain their informed consent or other valid authority.
- Ensure the management of record-keeping and patient documentation through the creation and maintenance of concise, contemporaneous computerized records.
- Liaise effectively with all other disciplines and to forge effective links with primary and secondary care to ensure effective communication.
- Undertake professional development and participate in Kanad Hospital’s CME program.
- Attend department and other scheduled meetings.
- Assist in the orientation of new staff.
- Participate in the teaching and supervision of medical students
Education & Experience
To qualify for the role of Specialist NICU (Neonatal intensive care unit), following is the required criteria:
- Board certified or MD in pediatric with fellowship in Neonatology.
- DOH/DHA licensed or DOH passer or DOH exam exempted preferable.
- Experience of 3 years after MD.
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of primary care.
- Should also be familiar with various modes of invasive and non-invasive respiratory support and all routine procedures in the NICU including but not limited to insertion of UVC, UAC, percutaneous line, peripheral arterial line, chest drain etc.
- ETT intubation of extreme low birth weight.
