Job Overview of A Network Engineer

• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
• Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
• Improve network performance for all systems and monitor system resource utilization, trending and capacity planning.

Your Duties As A Network Engineer

• Maintain complete technical documentation and Network architecture diagram.
• Suggest ways to improve network performance, capacity and scalability.
• Provide Level-2/3 support and trouble shooting to resolve issues.
• Work within established configuration and change management policy to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
• Select and apply security tools, policy and procedures in conjunction with the company security team.
• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem solving.
• Maintaining computer networks including VPNs, routers and other physical hardware inventory up to date.
• Maintaining fire walls and update virus protection software and data security systems to keep data and communications protected.

Eligible Candidates?

Qualification

• University degree in Computer Science.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Network Engineering.
• Hands on experience on Cisco Firewall’s, Cisco Core Switch and Cisco Edge switch.
• Hands on experience with multiple sites.
• Hands on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools.

Certification

• Must be certified in CCIE.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

• Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g. IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
• Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model.
• Familiarity with access control models and network security.
