University Hospital Sharjah is seeking a qualified and skilled Network Administrator for their dynamic team. Responsibilities of Network Administrator

  • Install and maintain network hardware and software.
  • Analyze and isolate issues.
  • Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to specific users.
  • Evaluate and modify system’s performance.
  • Identify user needs.
  • Determine network and system requirements.
  • Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security.
  • Ensure network connectivity throughout a company’s LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations.
  • Design and deploy networks.
  • Perform network address assignment.
  • Maintain network systems, VPN gateways, intrusion detection systems.
  • Participate in managing all network security solutions, including firewall, and intrusion detection systems.

What you’ll be doing as Network Administrator

  • Overseeing installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network/VoIP-related equipment.
  • Conducting research and make recommendations on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery, configure networks to ensure smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
  • Adherence to the IT Operations Division change management, password policy, and utilization of the appropriate mechanisms. Maintain the management of configurations for the network infrastructure, practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
  • Monitor and test network performance, and provide network performance statistics and reports.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and parts as well as documentation of vendor activities.
  • Recommend and schedule repairs to the LAN/WAN.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of hospital information through proper utilization of authentication and authorization procedures.
  • Perform daily backup operations of vital network configurations.
  • Provide services across the hospital wireless network via wireless devices.
  • Assign routing protocols and routing table configuration.
  • Identify quality indicators in his respective area and develop a plan for data collection, analysis and reporting.
  • Develop and produce statistical reports as required.
  • Develop, apply, monitor and review auditing policies and requirements.
  • Maintain current and complete documentation for networks components configurations and drawings.
  • Test new versions of software before using it in production environment.

Qualification & Experience

Following are the requirements for the role of Network Administrator at UHS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or an equivalent major.
  • A Professional Networks certificate/s is a plus.
  • A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in large scale networks as Network Administrator, preferably in hospital or health care settings.
  • Experience with design and management of large scale networks.
  • Demonstrated experience with routers, application switches, firewalls, Intrusion protection system, intrusion detection system, wireless controllers and layer 3 switches.
  • Highly preferable to have experience in Nortel network solutions, Juniper Firewalls, Bluecoat Proxy & Packet shaper, and VoIP Telephone Systems.
  • Healthcare/hospital experience preferred.
  • Strong Route & Switch experience.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Significant knowledge in network security.
  • Strong knowledge in wireless networks with its data and voice applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities.
  • The ability to organize priorities to achieve maximum performance cost effectively.
