Naval Engineer Duncan & Ross Abu Dhabi

Duncan & Ross is seeking a skilled Naval Engineer to join their offshore project team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, and oversight of marine and offshore structures specific to our Oil & Gas projects. This role requires a strong background in naval architecture and marine engineering, particularly in the offshore environment.This is a mid level full time role. For this position salary can range between 8000 to 18000 AED/month.

Responsibilities of A Naval Engineer

  • Design and analyze marine and offshore structures such as platforms, floating systems, mooring arrangements, and marine equipment, ensuring compliance with international standards, regulatory requirements, and project specifications.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, technical evaluations, and risk assessments for marine structures, providing recommendations to optimize design integrity, stability, and performance.
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams including structural engineers, marine engineers, offshore operations specialists, and project managers to integrate naval engineering solutions seamlessly into project designs.
  • Prepare detailed engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports related to naval architecture and marine engineering for offshore projects.
  • Review and evaluate vendor proposals, technical documentation, and construction drawings to ensure alignment with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Participate actively in design reviews, technical meetings, and client presentations, effectively communicating complex engineering concepts and solutions.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and surveys offshore to verify construction progress, quality, and adherence to design specifications and safety protocols.
  • Provide technical support during procurement activities, including bid evaluations, supplier selection, and contract negotiations for marine and offshore equipment and services.
  • Stay informed about industry advancements, technological innovations, and regulatory developments relevant to naval architecture and marine engineering in offshore environments.

Eligibility Requirements

The eligibility requirements for role of a Naval Engineer are as under:

  • Bachelors degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field. Masters degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Naval Engineer or Marine Engineer specifically in offshore projects within the Oil & Gas industry, with a strong background in EPC contracting.
  • Proficiency in naval architecture software tools such as NAPA, MOSES, Orca3D, or equivalent.
  • Solid understanding of marine and offshore engineering principles, including structural analysis, stability, hydrodynamics, and mooring systems.
  • Familiarity with international standards and codes applicable to offshore structures (e.g., ABS, DNV, API).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification preferred.
