Medical Transcriptionist Muabadala Health Abu Dhabi

Muabadala Health (Healthpoint) is currently accepting applications for the job of Medical Transcriptionist in Abu Dhabi. The incumbent is responsible for providing assistance to Physicians and relevant medical caregivers in related administrative activities.

Duties as Medical Transcriptionist

• Transcribes patients’ medical reports and any notes of Physicians and/or relevant medical caregivers.
• Assists in the transfer of patient data from paper to electronic format in compliance with the relevant rules and regulations.
• Responsible for implementation of retention and destruction policies and procedures for all medical record documentation as necessary.
• Develops and sends insurance request forms to be sent to the relevant Physician for approval. Verifies the insurance approvals for the prescribed treatments if applicable.
• Arranges patient referrals to Physicians and/or other medicalcaregivers for assistance in understanding the information in patient records.
• Reviews and documents patient visits and treatments as well as telephone orders in an accurate and timely manner.
• Provides and retrieves patient records by conducting activities including but not limited to processing, abstracting, analyzing and coding to enhance provision of transparent and high-quality patient care.
• Assists the Physicians and relevant clinical caregivers in administrative activities including but not limited to receiving and sending test results to authorized staff as well as printing documentation such as appointment letters, sick leave requests for patients and escort leaves.
• Liaises with relevant caregivers in processing requests for protected medical information and the release of patient information in adherence to the asset protocols and regulations.
• Records all requests and relevant documentation in the patient’s medical record as per the disposition of request, type of access, date and name of person processing the request.
• Assists in determining the financial status of patients and their eligibility for patient care services.
• Assists patients in accurately completing the appropriate forms and documents required for storage in medical records and ease of consultation.

Qualifications & Experience

For the role of Medical Transcriptionist, following is the required criteria:

• Vocational/Technical Education.
• 5+ years of progressive career experience.

Knowledge & Skills

• Ability to transcribe recorded Physicians’ diagnosis and encode in software/systems.
• Understanding of medical terminologies.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proficient in related medical record digital systems.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
