Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is seeking a Medical Secretary in a job advertisment published on January 23, 2024. This position is responsible for providing administrative and support to the Critical Care Institute and to function as a liaison between departments and others external to Medical.
Job Duties of Medical Secretary
- Produces correspondence, manuscripts, notes, summaries, meeting minutes and other material from a variety of sources.
- Develops and maintains departmental files, documents, data files and confidential information.
- Answers incoming telephone calls and refers to appropriate personnel for proper handling.
- Gathers and summarizes data for projects, studies and reports.
- Coordinates special functions and/or programs as assigned, including special studies, surveys, publications, etc.
- Serves as a liaison between departments and others within and/or external to Medical and CCAD.
- Maintains proper files and other office systems necessary.
- Handles minor administrative matters, based on knowledge and judgment of Hospital regulations, procedures and policies.
- Completes project assignments as requested.
- Prepares a monthly template for On call and circulates it to concern department and other entities.
- Maintains all required physicians training.
- Communicate with internal & external parties like DOH for schedule exam with other examiner if applicable.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
Following is the eligibility criteria for the role of Medical Secretary at CCAD:
- Higher Diploma is essential.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience as an administrative secretary.
- Experience with Microsoft Word software is mandatory (minimum of 40 words-per-minute).
- Health care industry experience is preferable.
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of medical terminology • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Manages multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to create and express new and innovative ideas to help build efficiency and effectiveness within Nursing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to speak and write in English is mandatory.
- Ability to speak and write in both English and Arabic is desirable.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
