A job opportunity has arisen at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City for the role of a Medical Practitioner OBGnye Ward. The selected aspirant will work under the supervision of the Consultant Physician or Specialist Physician, and shares responsibility for delivering high quality, evidence based patient care. Responsibilities of A Medical Practitioner

  • Oversees results of all investigations and modifies treatment in a timely manner with the approval of the Consultant or Specialist physician.
  • Assists senior physicians in diagnoses and treating patients.
  • Participates in daily ward rounds and reassesses inpatients and outpatients as clinically appropriate and as directed by the Consultant and/or Specialist.
  • Oversees the organization of tests and records results.
  • Liaises with other medical specialties and support services for additional input as required.
  • Provides support to the Interns as determined by the Consultant Physician.
  • Manages and admits appropriate referrals accepted by the Consultant or Specialist Physician from the Emergency Department, primary care, specialty clinics, walk-in patients and patients referred from other hospitals.
  • Contributes to the diagnoses and treatment of patients according to established standards of best practice.
  • Communicates information to patients and patients families.
  • Participates in the organization’s performance management system including peer review and the productivity and utilization review processes.
  • Participates in committees and working groups.
  • Participates in administrative duties as requested by the senior physicians.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with members of staff and promotes collaboration and a team based approach to patient care.
  • Complies with all hospital policies regarding admissions, consultations, daily patient care, surgical procedures, prescribing and discharge protocols, outpatient and follow-up practices.
  • Performs other clinical responsibilities as assigned.

Qualification Requirements for Role of Medical Practitioner

  • MBBS certificate.
  • Successful completion of internship (as per HAAD criteria) and evidence of national registration/license.
  • 2 years of relevant experience post internship.
  • For UAE Nationals and Non-UAE National graduates of UAE medical schools: No additional experience is required after successful completion of internship.
