About the Role
The Medical Practitioner in General Pediatrics operates under the supervision of the Consultant Physician and Specialist Physician, sharing responsibility for delivering high-quality, evidence-based patient care. Furthermore, the role involves participating in daily ward rounds, reassessing patients, and contributing to diagnoses and treatment plans. Moreover, the successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide on-call coverage on a rotational basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior physicians in diagnosing and treating pediatric patients according to best practice standards
- Participate in daily ward rounds and reassess inpatients and outpatients as clinically directed
- Oversee results of all investigations and modify treatment in a timely manner with consultant approval
- Manage and admit appropriate referrals from the Emergency Department, primary care, and specialty clinics
- Communicate information to patients and their families in a clear and timely manner
- Liaise with other medical specialties and support services for additional clinical input as required
- Participate in clinical audit, quality improvement initiatives, and research activities
- Provide teaching for interns and medical students as requested by senior physicians
- Provide out-of-hours on-call coverage on a rotational basis including evenings, nights, and weekends
- Document all relevant clinical information accurately in accordance with established protocols
Requirements
- Graduate from a Medical school listed in the Avicenna Directory or International Medical Education Directory (IMED)
- Successful completion of internship as per HAAD criteria with evidence of national registration or license
- Minimum 2 years relevant post-internship experience in hospital, PHC, or ER settings for Non-UAE Nationals
- Eligibility for DOH licensure in Abu Dhabi, UAE
- Strong clinical skills in pediatric medicine with commitment to evidence-based practice
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care skills
