Role of Medical Officer

The incumbent is responsible for diagnosing the patient’s illnesses, assisting them in diagnostic tests, monitoring a patient’s condition and writing prescriptions, while serving as a primary healthcare provider.

Duties of Medical Officer

• Ensure the delivery of an efficient, safe, and effective medical service to the patients.
• Assist the consultant / specialist in providing quality care.
• Work with other medical professionals to ensure continuity of medical care.
• Maintain effective professional relationship with patients, nurses and other physicians.
• Perform administrative duties when asked.
• Evaluate patient’s reports and medical history to determine their health condition, and treatment.
• Responsible for creating and maintaining patient medical records.
• Perform physical examination, diagnose and treat illnesses. Also provide follow-up care to the diseased.
• Guide patients on healthy lifestyle and preventive measures.
• Attend staff meetings regularly.
• Take part in medical conferences, meetings and trainings.

Education & Experience

• MBBS from an Accredited medical school.
• 2-3 years clinical experience in a medical setup.

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of clinical procedures.
• Knows appropriate use of medical technologies.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.
• Multitasking ability.
